I remember going to Fontaine Ferry Park when I was a child with all my mother's family for picnics on special occasions and holidays. We would take food, have a picnic and stay all day. What a great place it was!

Fifty-five years ago two friends and I worked at the park in a booth called "The Walking Charlie". We still see each other and I'm sure this museum vist will create flashbacks and spark memories at our next outing.

I remember my dad taking me on my first trip to Fontaine Ferry, riding a bus from our home in Schnitzelburg. He took me on my first ride on the Comet and I was a little kid. I was breathless the entire ride!

I remember my grandparents who lived in Jeffersonville taking me to Fontain Ferry Park when I was about 6 years old [1943]. I loved the laughing man and woman and the pony rides. It was a child's delight!
